Introducing The Life Happens Series

When I wrote my first book, I wasn’t thinking about creating a series.

I’ve always been a writer—working on school newspapers, local papers, and writing whenever I could—but publishing a book took courage I didn’t quite have yet. It wasn’t until I experienced a series of heartbreaking losses, including losing a foster child and several family members, that my perspective shifted.

Suddenly my mindset became “now or never.”

Those experiences led to the publication of In Case I Die, and from there the writing continued with Adulting 101 and Making Waves. Although each book was written for a different reason, they all share a common theme: life doesn’t always go the way we planned.

That’s why I’m excited to officially share that my books are now grouped together on Amazon as The Life Happens Series.

Why “The Life Happens Series”?

Because life throws a lot at us—sometimes when we least expect it.

Sometimes we’re learning how to navigate the responsibilities of adulthood.

Sometimes we’re coping with grief and loss.

Sometimes we realize we’ve spent too much time trying to please everyone else and need to learn how to set boundaries.

These books were written for those moments.

The Life Happens Series is a collection of honest, practical books about navigating the parts of life no one really prepares you for. Each book combines personal experiences, relatable stories, and real-world advice to help readers move through life’s challenges with more confidence.

And hopefully, with the feeling that they’re not alone.

The Books in the Series

Adulting 101

A practical guide packed with real-life tips to help readers navigate the responsibilities of adulthood—from finances and careers to relationships and everyday life skills.

In Case I Die

A heartfelt and often humorous reflection on grief, loss, and learning to appreciate life after experiencing profound personal tragedy.

Making Waves

An empowering guide to breaking free from people-pleasing, setting healthy boundaries, and finding the confidence to live life authentically.

Less Like a Textbook, More Like a Conversation

One thing readers often tell me is that my books feel different from typical self-help books.

Instead of reading like a textbook, they feel more like having a conversation with a friend—someone who’s willing to be honest about the messy, difficult, and sometimes even funny parts of life.

That’s exactly what I hope The Life Happens Series continues to be.

Because the truth is simple:

Life happens.

And sometimes we just need a little guidance—and a reminder that we’re not the only ones figuring it out as we go.
